Eric Murphy
Vice President, Sales

Eric MurphyEric Murphy, Vice President, is responsible for Spire Global's day to day U.S. Sales and Marketing operations. In addition to strengthening and growing Spire Global's US sales team, which includes highly experienced sales personnel from the video/audio industry, Murphy is responsible for managing the successful existing channel program, executing new channel sales strategy, driving the market channel partner programs, as well as developing strategic partnerships. Murphy brings more than 20 years of management experience in collaborative communication organizations to Spire Global having spent most of his career working with direct and indirect sales channels in both domestic and international markets.

Prior to joining Spire Global from 2003 – 2008, Murphy held executive management and GM roles in four consecutive start up projects specifically aimed at kicking off new business initiatives. While with Intandem Asia, a Hong Kong-based outsource sales, support and marketing organization, Murphy developed the go-to-market strategy for introducing US organizations into the Asian market place. At Sony Electronics, Murphy introduced a new alliance program to re-launch the Sony videoconferencing business leveraging new High Definition products.  He also developed SMB and Consumer video solutions while working closely with engineering and product planning to advise product direction for target markets.  Murphy was then recruited to help restart Israel-based NextNine in the US and focus on the Enterprise, Service Provider and SaaS markets. He introduced the first Partner Alliance Strategy to generate new sales channels. He partnered with the Board of Directors to implement the strategy and identify potential M & A candidates. VBrick Systems hired Murphy as GM to launch an online video platform, where he and his team created a Managed Services offering. He acted in all areas of development to create the platform, vision, and go-to-market strategy. After product launch Murphy managed Business Development and Sales to acquire the first customers and resale partners.

From 1999 to 2003 – Murphy served as Director, World Wide Digital Sales & Marketing for Polycom. Murphy and his team developed and launched an ecommerce initiative which created a new revenue stream and initiated a fulfillment program to include existing channels. Simultaneously murphy and his team introduced a new affiliate program to attract a new breed of online partner. Murphy joined Via Video in 1997 and came to Polycom as part of a 1998 acquisition, which resulted in his appointment to Director, World Wide Sales Channels. Murphy led transition and staff integration activities and was part of the team that helped grow international channels from 20 to 50 and revenue from $10 Million to $100 Million.

Prior to Polycom, Murphy served in technical, marketing and sales roles at PictureTel, an early leader in videoconferencing and collaborative communications. Murphy's career also includes Management roles at Bechtel Corporation, where he launched the company's initial installation of a worldwide videoconferencing network.

Mr. Murphy earned a Masters degree in Telecommunications Management from Golden Gate University.

 

Paul Dragos
Director of Engineering

Paul Dragos is Spire Global's Director of Engineering. Paul's responsibilities include interfacing with Spire Global's growing base of direct and indirect resellers and end-users regarding integration, training and pre sales support with the Sony Video Conferencing products. Paul plays a key role working with the Spire Global Sales team in growing reseller and end-user awareness on the products as well as providing trouble shooting and technical trainings for all new dealers and resellers.

Prior to joining Spire Global Paul was with Sony's Ipela Visual communications group from 2002 to 2007, where he held the position of Manager, Sales Support Engineering. He supervised 11 subordinate engineers, and ensured Sony's pre-sales support for the entire country.

From 1999 to 2002 Paul was with Televideo Systems inc. where he held the title of Manager of Videoconferencing. Responsible for all aspects of teleconferencing, from sales to service, he was quickly recognized as an expert in the Sony line of products.

From 1996 to 1999 Paul was Director of Operations for the Navy Communications Company, a government contractor awarded the assignment of installing 21 VC centers on Navy bases all over the world. Paul managed logistics and engineering support for the entire project.

Paul also was a Navy Pilot from 1983 to 1996, serving in the Gulf War and flying over 2500 hours before leaving the service to pursue his civilian engineering career.

Paul is a graduate of The University of California, San Diego.

 

Jeremy Johnson
Director of Operations

Jeremy Johnson is Spire Global's Director of Operations. Jeremy's role encompasses a variety of areas including marketing, logistics, operations, and web initiatives.

Jeremy is a key member of the management team at Spire Global and played a major role in helping to develop key channel initiatives and programs to help support channel partners. He is also responsible for pricing strategy, market analysis, and contract management and execution.

Prior to joining Spire Global, Jeremy was a partner with Wave Strategies, Inc. In his capacity at Wave Strategies he managed sales and marketing initiatives for clients from Fortune 500 firms to regional companies in industries including high-tech, real-estate, automotive, retail, professional sports, entertainment, and education – helping these clients better understand customer buying behavior and how to drive sales more effectively.

Jeremy received his MBA with an emphasis in finance from Pepperdine University.
